Violeta Nicola __ When did you realize that you wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry?

Victoria Brito __ From a young age, I wanted to be an artist. Even in my earliest memories, the allure of the entertainment industry and all that it encompasses fascinated me. Initially, I started on my creative journey through dancing. However, fate had other plans for me, and along the way, I was discovered as a model. It all unfolded organically, and ever since, my path has led me to become the artist you know today.

VN __ What are some misconceptions about your job that people still believe in?

VB __ I think one of the biggest misconceptions I’ve seen people still believe in is about modeling. Many people think that models are marionettes who just do what they are told. However, this is far from the truth. Having dedicated over a decade to this industry, I can attest that I am actively engaged in every facet of my career. I take great pride in immersing myself in each project I undertake, and I know that this level of involvement extends to many of my colleagues within the modeling industry. We are passionate contributors, deeply committed to shaping our own narratives and making meaningful contributions to the creative process and society.

VN __ The modeling industry comes with its ups and downs. What valuable lessons have you learned over the years that helped you get to where you are today?

VB __ The entertainment industry is continuously evolving, so one of the most valuable lessons I have learned is adaptability. The industry undergoes constant transformation, and it is crucial to embrace these changes without losing sight of your goals. By striking a balance between embracing innovation and staying true to our aspirations, we can navigate the dynamic nature of the industry with resilience and focus.

VN __ Did you ever have that moment where you realized “you did it” in your career?

VB __ I think that there are many moments that together add up to that big feeling of “you did it” in a career. For me, my first fashion editorial in W Magazine was definitely a “YES” moment and one that I will never forget. Seeing myself on those pages really gave me a feeling of accomplishment. Some other highlights include the launch of my first fragrance, which I created in collaboration with Calvin Klein, and participating in my first thought leadership panel.

VN __ You are a model, dancer, designer, activist, and so much more. At the end of the day, to what professions does your heart belong the most and why?

VB __ Several of my projects blend my background as a model, dancer, designer, and activist. It's a special feeling to bring together these different parts of your life. By doing so, I can create a synergy that not only showcases my versatility but also amplifies the impact of my work. This approach allows me to express my artistic vision while championing the causes that hold significance to me.

VN __ With a rich portfolio of past projects under your belt, people are curious about what lies ahead and the ventures you plan to embark on. What can we anticipate in terms of your future endeavors?

VB __  Although I'm unable to disclose specific details about my current projects, I can share that I will be expanding my engagement with LGBTQ+ causes. This commitment to advocacy remains a top priority for me. Additionally, I am actively pursuing new brand collaborations to diversify my portfolio further. I’m really excited to be able to combine these two avenues in the future.

VN __  Are there any creatives you’d like to work with in the future?

VB __ When it comes to collaborating with fellow creatives, I would like to work with Jerry Lorenzo. He is a true hero of mine. Jerry is an American fashion and sneaker designer and founder of the esteemed streetwear label Fear of God. His innovative vision and remarkable contributions have left an indelible mark, and cannot wait to see what he does next.

VN __ Where do you see yourself and your career heading in the future?

VB __ First and foremost, I want to keep growing and taking on new challenges. This mindset is very important to me as I strive to push my boundaries and evolve as an artist constantly. When it comes to specifics, I am very focused on expanding into the fields of music and design. Eventually, I would love to have my own clothing line where I have full reign to use my creativity.

VN __ What are some things you hope to cross off your bucket list in 2023?

VB __ While my bucket list evolves with each passing year, there is one goal that transcends my yearly aspirations: to secure a spot on the OUT100's list. This achievement holds profound significance to me, as it symbolizes recognition within the LGBTQ+ community and represents a testament to my impact and contributions. To be acknowledged alongside influential individuals who have made substantial contributions to the community would be an honor and a milestone I strive to achieve.

VN __ What are some causes that are dear to your heart and hope to bring more awareness to through your platform?

VB __ Our community is under attack, and I feel very strongly about supporting non-profits such as God's Love We Deliver and The Gay and Lesbian Center. These organizations play a crucial role in providing essential services and support to our community. I hope to be able to bring more awareness to this cause as well as promote non-profits that do such a great job but are often overlooked or underfunded.  I aspire to leverage my platform to amplify their voices, garner support, and ensure that their valuable contributions are recognized and sustained. Together, we can make a difference and strengthen the foundations of support for our community.
